Restore • Balance • Clarify

A grounding, rainforest-inspired tea designed to soothe the body and mind. Each spring when the forest starts to awaken, the scent of Ch'atyay (Devils Club) signals its presence. Inspired by Shkweń—the Squamish word for "ocean"—this unique tea was crafted to bring balance and harmony to both body and mind. The fresh, green, and slightly woodsy essence of Devil’s Club blends beautifully with the tart sweetness of blackberry and the calming qualities of lemon balm. Together, they create a mild, citrus-forward flavor that’s both grounding and uplifting, perfect for moments of peace or reflection. Packaged in a compostable standup pouch, it’s not only good for you, but also for the planet. Enjoy a moment of rejuvenation with every cup.

What You’ll Notice
  • A calmer nervous system as lemon balm works to reduce stress and mild anxiety.
  • Soothed digestive tract with blackberry leaves helping to calm upset stomachs and inflammation.
  • A sense of systemic balance as devil's club provides traditional adaptogenic support for blood sugar and vitality.
  • Gentle antioxidant protection that helps clear the skin and fortify the body from within.

Key Ingredients

Ch’átyay - Devil's Club

Ch’atyaý is one of the most culturally and spiritually important plants in Squamish territory and across its range in general. Each spring when the forests start to awaken, the scent of ch’atyaý signals its presence. Sacred and demanding of respect, Devil's Club (Oplopanax horridus) teaches us resilience. Its roots dig deep into the Earth Mother, drawing strength and endurance. When applied to the skin, it helps soothe the look and feel of the skin, echoing the serenity of the Land.

Lemon Balm

Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) is a lemon-scented herb from the mint family, cherished for its calming and mood-lifting properties. Used for centuries in herbal remedies and teas, it's a natural go-to for stress relief and mental clarity.

Blackberry Leaf

Blackberry leaf (Rubus fruticosus) in tea offers a mildly astringent, earthy flavor and is traditionally used to support digestion, soothe sore throats, and reduce inflammation due to its high tannin and antioxidant content.

Our Story

At Sḵwálwen, we sustainably harvest and source sacred plants that are known to help heal, hydrate, renew and bring balance.

Our heritage botanicals grow and thrive in particular terroir. We observe these plants throughout their growing season, looking for the cues and signs that they are ready to be harvested. This kind of awareness leads to a connection to place and a knowledge that can only be developed over time.

Each batch of Sḵwálwen products is made with care and intention, bringing you luxurious skincare products free from harsh chemicals, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colors and parabens.
