Glass Jars & Steel Lids
Our jars are made of Type III soda lime glass. It is the same glass used across the food and beauty industry. Glass is one of the few materials that lasts forever. You can melt it down and remake it again and again, and it never wears out. The lids are steel, steel is fully recyclable too, and sorting facilities pull it out easily with magnets.

How to recycle it:
Rinse the jar. Take off the lid. Both pieces go straight into your regular curbside glass and metal recycling.

Tins:
These are tin plate containers. That means a steel sheet with a thin coating of tin on top, which stops it from rusting. It is the same basic material tin cans have used for over a century.

How to recycle it:
Steel and tin plate are fully recyclable, and they are some of the most recycled materials in North America. Steel recycling infrastructure is well established almost everywhere.

Here is what to do: Empty the tin, give it a wipe and a clean with soap, and it can go straight into your curb side metal recycling.

Compostable Bags
These bags are certified industrially compostable.

How to compost it:
These bags only break down under high heat, over 58°C. A backyard compost pile never gets that hot, so keep them out of it.

Here is what to do:
Drop the bag in your municipal green cart. Squamish curbside green bin programs typically accept them. If your area does not, look for a commercial composting facility nearby, since they run hot enough
to break the bag down. One more thing. Keep these bags out of the recycling bin. They will contaminate the batch.
